My friend and I have a great tradition that every school/university holiday we go out for dinner in London. We both like pretty much all types of cuisines, so generally try and visit a range of different places - previously we have been for Mexican, Dim Sum and Lebanese just to name a few. So last night we found an amazing deal for dinner at Bam Bou in Soho, (they're offering 50% off food in January).
I have to say the food was unbelievably tasty - especially for the price we paid! Neither of us fancied anything alcoholic, although the cocktails did look divine, so we both had the "Roselle" mocktail, composed of Hibiscus tea, home-made lime cordial, lemongrass and ginger syrup.
On to the food, we ordered:
- crispy squid with a chilli sauce and wild ginger
- soft shell crab and green mango salad
- roast duck and pineapple with a plum sauce
- thai green curry served with rice
It's fair to say we both loved everything we ordered and would definitely come back again, even without the discount. The flavours of the food were just amazing, a true mix of sweet, sour, savoury, in true oriental food style.
So if you're ever in the Soho area, you have to go!
